I wanted to thank you and your staff at the foundation for making our trip aboard the LYNX such a memorable adventure for our 8th graders. Only one student had ever been out to sea and I don’t think any of them anticipated seasickness. After five minutes in the water, Gerardo announced to everyone, “Go ahead. Throw up. You’ll feel better.” And so they did.

When making a field trip, I always want teachers to tell me how the children benefit and how it is aligned with their curriculum. This trip met four criteria very well: visual reinforcement of an era in American history, vocabulary development, extended writing experience, and oral discussion. Thursday morning, they were still so excited and stories spilled out. This is education at its best.

Your staff aboard the LYNX was professional, informed and made each child feel special. I hope we can do this again next year.
