Scout Troop 251 Sail Aboard The Lynx
Posted by privateerlynx on Wednesday Oct 1, 2008 Under All, TestimonialsDear Cindy,
I just wanted to send you this letter expressing how much fun we, Troop 251 and extended family, had on the Lynx Schooner this past weekend. Although a few of us got a little sea sickness, the overall experience was fantastic.
It was nice that we were able to actually sail for a bit on Saturday afternoon, and the weather cooperated enough by not raining during our time on the water as well as on the island. Unfortunately, we didn’t get enough wind to sail on Sunday, but the sunshine and opportunity to observe a couple of different pods of dolphins swimming along the bow captured the moment.
The entire crew, including Captain Craig Chipman, was professional and friendly. I believe the scouts were able to take home some real sailing experience and get a little taste of sailing boats from an important part of our historic past as a nation. Again, I wanted to thank you and your crew for the experience. We will look into doing this again next year…
Sincerely,
Gary R. Goldman, Scout Master, Troop 251, Corona CA
