The 1812 Privateer Lynx operates under the auspices of the
Lynx Educational Foundation

The Lynx Educational Foundation has won recent awards for excellence in sail training and ASTA racing for 2008.

Lynx Educational Foundation
The Lynx Educational Foundation operates the education programs for the Privateer Lynx and coordinates all bookings for shoreside, dockside and sailing schedules.

Education Programs
Giving students the ability to explore, they become inspired to learn. The Lynx Education Program can be adapted to a wide variety of curricula and educational needs.

Teacher Information
After input from educators and teachers, the Lynx Education Program allows students a singular opportunity to expand their horizons. It also lets teachers teach by example and gives them a way to focus student attention.

The Lynx educational program meets the State of California Curriculum Standards and has been officially endorsed by the Orange County Board of Education, and is an LAUSD Officially Approved Venue for field trips.

Sail Training Program
Sail training vessels are more than classrooms at sea. They carry students into a huge world away from their daily lives of home, school and community routine. An historic vessel like Lynx awakens them further by carrying students back in time, immersing them in seafaring traditions and early American maritime history. Sail training on board Lynx is the voyage of a lifetime, set in a context of a compelling experience, enrichening discovery and lasting achievement.
